What are the health benefits of chocolate and CBD? Well, dark chocolate with a high cocoa content, can be quite nutritious. Nutritious foods don’t need to be bland or flavorless, they can be decadent and satisfying! Dark chocolate contains a decent amount of soluble fiber and is loaded with minerals. It can be a source […]

One of the most impressive flowering tree’s of Maui is the stunning Jacaranda. You might be familiar with this tree, as it is a hard one to forget! The tall and full amethyst shaded blooms announce the arrival of spring time. They drop their flowers between May to mid June creating a beautiful carpet of […]

My family of 4 went on this tour of the Kupa’a farm in Kula, Maui & we were so pleasantly surprised! Amidst COVID regulations, the private tour option was perfect, and Ann, our tour guide, really emphasized health, safety, and respect for us as well as those who lived and worked on the farm. Ann was very knowledgeable about the farm, coffee, chocolate, and the two’s agricultural history on Maui. We got to taste every stage of the cacao plant as it evolved into chocolate – from the fruit freshly harvested from the tree, all the way to a square of chocolate melting in your mouth. The coffee from the farm was so lovely, it didn’t even need cream or sugar! My family truly enjoyed this tour – an experience we have never had before.

Anne was a wonderful guide on this super cool, interactive, private tour. My 11 year old son started out skeptical but ended up wowed and loved it. The coffee grown here is outstanding and the making hot chocolate from pod to cup is so educational and cool. Highly recommend by us!

Ann gave us an experience of a lifetime on this private Chocolate 🫕 and coffee☕ tour. Sharing with us the knowledge of the history of Maul and it’s fruit, which I would never have thought of it being a fruit, that’s what going on a tour like this will teach you. Great job!

Open for private tours only due to Covid, which made for a better experience with hands on activities picking beans, grinding them, and mixing cocoa. Ann was a masterful guide with deep expertise to share on agriculture, climate, processing, preparation, and tasting. A beautiful farm and delightful, rich experience.

Had the second tour after Covid-19’s shutdown in Maui on November 4th. This was an amazing tour / experience through the Chocolate & Coffee worlds. From growth to final form’s of the Coffee, and Chocolate. We did a Private tour, and it was incredible. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Maui. The tasting was also an amazing part of the tour.

My husband and I booked a group tour in February before COVID hit, and were so blessed and surprised when we showed up for our tour to learn that we were the only 2 booked and got a PRIVATE tour instead! We got to spend the afternoon with TWO guides, and found the tour incredibly interesting. The tasting at the end was THE highlight, but the history of the property, views and tour of the farm were all excellent. Great value and a very cool way to learn more about Maui. Highly recommend!

Great Private Tour Really enjoyable 2 hour private tour with our guide Ann. We learned so much about the chocolate making process from the bean to the bar which should be on any chocolate lovers bucket list of things to do in Maui. Ann did a wonderful job of adjusting the tour so my 85 year old Mom could ride in a golf cart since this is a working farm. My 26 year old niece also really loved the tour as well! It was great to have it set up as a private tour! Nice finishing touch was a homemade passion fruit bread to go with the jam we purchased.

Chocolate & Coffee Lovers Must Do! A great opportunity to stroll through Kupa’a, a small, lovely organic farm in beautiful (Kula) Maui. Not only will you see, touch and taste cocoa and coffee beans, you’ll compare chocolates during a tasting toward the end of the tour! Ann will lead you on a wonderful experience breaking down the process of chocolate and coffee production step by step. She is a wealth of knowledge and really knows her stuff. You will walk away with an appreciation and understanding of how we get to enjoy these two delightful favorites! Well worth it.

An Informative Tour We attended this tour to learn how chocolate is made and that’s exactly what we learned. The farm is quite small and our tour was intimate with only 2 other couples. The outhouse for a washroom was very disappointing; however the tour itself was quite good and informative. Our Tour Guide was lovely and knew everything chocolate. The tour was 2 hours in duration.

I didn’t know how much I didn’t know! Best Chocolate (Cacao!) education I had never really thought about, where does my chocolate come from? Hershey, PA right?!…. not correct… well how about Belgium or Germany? also way off base. I learned so much, but one of my biggest take away was learning about the 20/20 belt. The global Cacao growing region twenty degrees north or south of the Equator, those are the places where Cacao is grown, and dried, and fermented, and then roasted! (just like coffee) before being shipped to places like Hershey and made into the kisses we all know and love. There was way too much info to re-cap in this review, but it was a very fun and engaging (not to mention Delicious!) way to learn about Chocolate/Cacao and Coffee in one of the most beautiful places on Maui bi-coastal views from an amazing upcountry organic farm wow! what a fun afternoon for everyone in my group.

Farm to table chocolate We had the opportunity to experience an upcountry outing to learn about a favorite food item- Chocolate! Ann showed us cacao from beginning to finished product. All you might want to learn & more. The walkabout was beautiful with bi-coastal views of Maui and finished off with tasting a wide variety of chocolates and special chocolate drink mix. Head upcountry for a wonderful outing and learn about chocolate. Ann is more than willing to share what she has learned.

Had a great time on the Chocolate tour with Ann! She’s very knowledgeable about the whole growing and production process and I learned a lot about one of my favorite foods!! The tour lasts about 2 hours, there’s never a dull moment. She ran us through crushing the beans, using a fan to remove the unwanted parts, put them through a grinder to get the butter out, and prepared a delicious chocolate concoction for us to enjoy. And we ended with a tasting of chocolates from different parts of the world—yummy! The location has gorgeous views of the island, which doesn’t hurt either. Definitely worth making this part of your Upcountry day!

So cool! Now we know where chocolate comes from!

My five year old daughter and I took the tour together and we were so impressed! First of all the bicoastal views are epic! Our tour guide Ann was super friendly and presented an educational experience in such an intriguing and fun way. We really enjoyed how hands on the tour was. Make sure you have plenty of room on your phone to take photos because there are so many photo ops. We actually got to make a cacao drink straight from the beans and taste it! The chocolate tasting at the end was so delicious and the chocolate tasting wheel was super cool. My favorite was the Madagascar chocolate that was creamy with citrus notes and the coffee was delicious! My daughter was super excited to go to school and tell her classmates that now she knows where chocolate comes from. The farm was magical and charming. At the end of the tour We bought the fresh lilikoi bread and can’t stop thinking about how delicious it was! Definitely i must do on Maui for people of all ages!

Fun and Educational

Ann was an amazing tour guide! She was outstanding and so knowledgeable about both coffee and chocolate. Beautifully set on Kupa’a Farms, it is a great activity for anyone who loves food and a great view. The coffee was so good we ended up bringing a bag home. Highly recommend this tour!
